Zell Am See: a major centre for skiing in Austria

Nestled in a glacial valley, the ski resort of Zell am See is among the most beautiful in Austria. Located at the foot of the Schmittenhöhe mountain, the brightly coloured buildings in the centre form a picturesque setting for many a stroll. You’ll be able to enjoy more relaxing walks, safe in the knowledge that the prettiest part of the town is a car-free zone.

Stop off for a quick bite to eat in one of the many bars and restaurants where you can also sample a typical Austrian dinner, or enjoy a great night out in the company of friends. For a different experience, hang up your ski rental and swing by the ice rink, or else grab a pair of snowshoes and explore the upper reaches of the resort. Zell am See's water park is another favourite spot where you can while away some time swimming a few lengths of the pool and relaxing in the sauna. To entertain the children, there is a huge slide, as well as a kid's pool.
