Chic and authentic resort

For several centuries after its foundation in 931, the village of Kaprun was home to mountain farmers, but in 1963, its rise to fame began with the construction of the first cable car. As such, its ski area was the first to be created in Austria. Nowadays, together with its sister resort Zell am See, it comprises one of Austria’s major tourism sites.

No service is lacking in the resort: all the amenities you need for a great holiday are here: souvenir shops, supermarkets, ski hire shops, all kinds of accommodation, etc. Architecturally, the town has kept all of its charm and prides itself in conserving the predominant stone and wood chalets.

The area surrounding Kaprun is a little slice of heaven, cradled by mountains and set beside a crystal-clear lake. The rich and varied adventures on offer in Kaprun will be a source of unforgettable memories for the entire family.
