The Risoul resort
The Risoul resort in the Southern Alps is unique in that it is located in the heart of a larch forest and is perfectly integrated into it. At an altitude of 1850 metres, it overlooks the magnificent Ecrins Natural Park.
Built of stone and wood, the village blends in perfectly with the surrounding countryside and has always favoured Savoyard architecture for its buildings and structures.
As far as skiing is concerned, the adjoining ski area bears the pretty name of Forêt Blanche, in reference to the larch trees. There are 116 pistes and 185 kilometres of downhill runs for all abilities. With its Southern Alps climate, the sun often shines and the snowfalls are short and plentiful.
The resort offers a variety of après-ski activities, from ice skating to relaxing in the spas. Visitors can also enjoy a lively nightlife with parties in the resort's bars and discos.
