Legendary and cosmopolitan, the ski resort of Tignes has been welcoming skiers since 1936, when there was only a single ski lift. After an incident on the dam had flooded the old village of Tignes, in 1970, the resort bounced back quickly, becoming the cosmopolitan and popular place we know today.

The resort’s trendiest party zone is Val Claret where the après-ski fun continues until dawn! In addition, there are many interesting restaurants to try, as well as all the local shops catering for your holiday needs: clothing stores, ski rental shops, local products on sale, etc.

Tignes benefits from the longest ski season: the Grande Motte glacier opens for skiing at the end of October and the season continues until the end of spring, around the beginning of May. So, you'll have ample time to cover 300 km of pistes! Ski lifts transport you to an elevation of 3,500 m and the guarantee of a complete change of scenery.

Regardless of their level, all skiers can get the most out of the ski terrain! “1, 2, 3 ... Ski Start!” progression zones let beginners learn the thrills of skiing safely before taking the pistes by storm!
