Pra Loup: a resort with something for everyone
The idea of creating a ski resort to develop tourism in the Ubaye valley was born in the 1950s. France’s ski team coach, Honoré Bonnet, and skier Émile Allais were put in charge of the project. Building began on the first facilities in the 1960s.
The resort of Pra Loup is divided into two parts. In Pra Loup 1500, traditional mountain architecture has inspired the compact accommodation buildings. Hidden in the forest, they are the ideal place to take time out and enjoy a tranquil holiday. In Pra Loup 1600, the buildings are more modern, yet still blend in with the natural setting. Here you will find many businesses, such as ski hire shops, bars, and restaurants. Visitors can also avail of the tennis club and outdoor ice rink during their stay.
