La Rosière: a resort combining tradition and modernity

Although it was initially a small mountain hamlet perched at an altitude of 1,850 m, La Rosière was transformed into a thoroughly modern ski resort in the 1950s. The traditional style of chalets sit side by side with more contemporary buildings. La Rosière is still very much a quiet destination where you can enjoy an active and regenerating holiday. Mont Blanc, Mont Pourri, as well as the Grandes Jorasses and the Matterhorn will all make an appearance on your walks.

With restaurants serving specialities from Savoie, bars where you can enjoy drinks with friends, and ski rental shops: the resort of La Rosière has it all covered. There are also lots of lively après-ski activities on offer. A running track has been marked out for fans of running on the snow, daily snowshoeing and Nordic walking excursions are organised, and there is also a tobogganing zone for both young and old to enjoy.

Ski area in La Rosière

Together with La Thuile, La Rosière is part of the Franco-Italian ski area known as the Espace San Bernardo. Once you have donned your ski rental, there are 13 black runs, 31 red runs, 25 blue runs and 6 green runs for you to discover. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts can enjoy three trails covering 7 km with skiing for all ability levels. There are also three secure ski touring trails for powder explorers.

Freestylers of all levels will be able to perfect their technique on the numerous modules at La Poletta snowpark. For kids learning to ski on the slopes of Petit Saint-Bernard, there is a Funcross piste, as well as an adventure trail.
