The Aussois region has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and the village of Aussois boasts a history going all the way back to ancient times. Perched at an altitude of 1,500 m, the village of Aussois extends a welcome in a picturesque setting combining traditional chalets and apartment complexes that are in keeping with the traditional Savoyard architectural style.
Aussois sits in a breathtaking natural setting. Some of the land belonging to its municipality even sits inside the Vanoise National Park. The imposing silhouette of the Dent Parrachée peak overlooks this family resort where many invigorating nature walks are just waiting to be explored.
Although its history is centuries-old and its nature unspoilt, the welcome you receive in Aussois is thoroughly modern. Food outlets, sports shops for ski hire, and souvenir shops are among the amenities available to visitors.
