Aussois: a charming village-resort

The Aussois region has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and the village of Aussois boasts a history going all the way back to ancient times. Perched at an altitude of 1,500 m, the village of Aussois extends a welcome in a picturesque setting combining traditional chalets and apartment complexes that are in keeping with the traditional Savoyard architectural style.

Aussois sits in a breathtaking natural setting. Some of the land belonging to its municipality even sits inside the Vanoise National Park. The imposing silhouette of the Dent Parrachée peak overlooks this family resort where many invigorating nature walks are just waiting to be explored.

Aussois ski area

The 21 slopes in the Aussois ski area extend between altitudes of 1,500 m and 2,750 m. With 3 black runs, 7 red runs, 6 blue runs and 5 green runs, there is plenty of variety to the 55 km of downhill skiing available in the Aussois ski area. Once you have donned your ski rental, head out and explore meandering wooded trails in the lower part of the resort or access the higher ski terrain for more challenging technical slopes, such as the Stella red run or the Balmes black run.

Fans of freestyle can tackle the Boardercross Rail Park, situated near the Bellecôte red run, or else check out the snowpark modules by the Eterlou chairlift. The Nordic skiing zone in Aussois boasts 30 km of groomed trails for classic cross-country skiing and skate skiing. Don’t miss the 15 km red run which connects Aussois to the neighbouring village of Sardières!
