The Alpe d'Huez resort

With its 250 kilometres of pistes, the resort known simply as "l'Alpe" is perfect for all types of skier: from beginners to experienced skiers, including those who haven't put their ski boots on for a long time and will need to readapt to the snow. The facilities include over 80 ski lifts, 30 T-bar lifts, 23 chair lifts, 9 gondolas and 3 cable cars. With 250km of pistes, Alpe d'Huez is one of the largest ski areas in France. For thrill-seekers, the resort offers 20 different off-piste slopes, and expert skiers can descend the Sarenne, the longest run in the world (16km downhill), or the Tunnel, which leads to one of France's steepest runs.

Alpe d'Huez is a charming village, with its church, village square and various cafes and bars for a well-earned break or evening entertainment. The resort is friendly and cosmopolitan. Families and groups of friends alike will find plenty to do in what is also known as "L'île au soleil".
