The Valmorel resort

An authentic resort

Valmorel embodies the French Alps thanks to its typical Savoyard chalets, its lively village centres and its fresh, soft powder. Valmorel also caters well to families and groups of friends, and in 2014 it was voted the world's best family-orientated resort. The resort has plenty of activities for kids as well as their parents.

Skiing and snowboarding aside, you can enjoy: Snake Gliss, airboarding, quad biking, ULM flights, snowshoe hikes, dog sledding and even paragliding for sporty thrill-seekers. Anyone who fancies some R+R can head to the "Valmoforme" to have some downtime while enjoying the fresh mountain air.

The ski area

The Valmorel ski resort is linked to the Saint-François Longchamp resort via the Col de Madeleine pass, as well as to the Doucy-Combelouvière resort. The three form the Grande Domaine area. This means Valmorel visitors can access 150 km of ski runs and 20 km of cross-country runs. The slopes range from 1,400 m and 2,550 m in altitude and wind their way through forests.

In Valmorel's ski area you'll find 22 green, 39 blue, 17 red and 8 black runs. While hardened skiers can tackle the black runs or go off-piste, beginners can find their feet and up their skills on gentle, wide slopes. What's more, 315 snow cannons ensure optimal snow conditions throughout the ski season. Freeriders, freestylers and other board fans will love the "Valmocross", a boardercross, snowpark and snowcross zone suited to all levels.
