The Val d'Isère resort

The ski resort of Val d'Isere is imbued with history and authenticity. Its first hotel opened in 1888 and would foreshadow an enduring adventure. From 1930 onwards, Val d'Isere's popularity was immediately established thanks to its charming architecture and exceptional ski terrain.

Historic resort

When you holiday in Val d'Isere, you will definitely be introduced to Savoie heritage from the architecture to the cuisine. Indeed, Val d'Isere prides itself on preserving its authentic character, as you can see in its traditional mountain chalets built of wood, stone and lime.

Ski area

The ski area in Val d'Isere opens at the end of November and only closes in early May. Here you will find over 300 km of pistes, including the legendary Face de Bellevarde (expert skiers only).

This ski area has always hosted major events on the winter sports calendar, such as the Olympic Games, Critérium de la Première Neige alpine skiing competition and the World Ski Championships. Although there are pistes reserved for advanced levels, there are also many off-piste trails that are perfectly safe to explore, in addition to 25 original rails and 5 natural boardercross courses for snowboarding enthusiasts.
