The Montgenèvre resort

Montgenèvre: a village-resort with a rich history

Perched at an altitude of 1,860 m, Montgenèvre is a resort where traditional chalets and modern residences blend harmoniously into the natural setting. Ever since the first skiers arrived in 1907, the resort has played host to many sporting events and its facilities have been expanded.

Located right on the Italian border, Montgenèvre is surrounded by imposing fortifications, such as the fort on Mont Chaberton at an elevation of 3,131 m. The resort is also on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, and there are a number of chapels and churches which you can visit. Don’t miss the impressive Napoleon obelisk on the way out of the village.

Montgenèvre is a village-resort with a wide array of après-ski activities. Fine dining, a trip to the cinema, the ice rink or the spa and wellness centre can all be part of your holiday experience. Naturally, there are also plenty of shops covering your ski hire and everyday shopping needs.
