Fügen, a compact resort
With its small mountainside chalets and a church featuring typical Tyrolean architecture, Fügen is a ski resort where you can enjoy an authentic holiday experience. A warm welcome awaits at the many food establishments offering Austrian fare both on the slopes and in the resort. In the evenings when the streets come alive, the sounds of traditional and pop music usher in relaxing evenings out or the opportunity to dance ‘til dawn.
Fügen is the largest village in the Ziller Valley, so you’ll never get bored! Once you put your skis away for the day, treat yourself to a trip to the ice rink, admire the valley’s wonderful scenery on a horse-drawn carriage ride, or explore the surrounding forests on snowshoes. Why not also visit the local cheese factory to immerse yourself in the local know-how and traditions?
Ski area in Fügen
Fügen’s ski area (Spieljoch) has around 20 km of slopes in all, with something to suit all abilities. It also boasts the region’s longest downhill run at 7 km! Freeriders can enjoy 3.4 km of signposted powder tracks. You can also catch the skibus to visit the adjacent ski area of Hochfügen / Hochzillertal.
All in all, there are around 100 km of pistes to keep you entertained. From 33 km of easy downhills, 53 km of red runs and 20 km of black runs: there is something for everyone! Facing the spectacular scenery of the Zillertal, a total of 53 km of cross-country trails connect Fügen with the valley's other ski resorts. Freestyle fun awaits at the “Funny Slope” which has modules for all ability levels to enjoy.
